Bostoberfest – Oom-Pah-PAW!

Boston Terrier Rescue Canada hosts the second annual Bostoberfest in support of canine rescue

On Saturday October 2nd, 2010, Boston Terriers and their people will be converging upon SuperDog Central in Bowmanville to celebrate the 2nd annual “Bostoberfest”.

Bostoberfest is a great opportunity for families and their Boston Terriers to get together and enjoy a funfilled day in the company of other Boston Terrier fanciers, while also supporting a great cause. Run entirely by volunteers, Boston Terrier Rescue Canada (BTRC) is a national non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing Boston Terriers and Boston mixes from suffering, cruelty, abandonment and neglect, rehabilitating them, and placing them in new loving homes.

While it’s true that there won’t be hoisting of traditional beers steins at this family friendly event, attendees can still partake of the merrymaking by trying their paw at a variety of dog sports (such as agility and flyball,) and enjoying the indoor and outdoor play areas. There will be entertaining games and contests, raffles, food for people and pets, and more. Rescue volunteers will also on hand to answer questions about their organization and how others can get involved with helping Boston Terriers in need.

Cost is $10.00 per family, which includes a special goodie bag for the first 100 guests. All proceeds from the event will go to support BTRC and the dogs they save. The event is open to all Boston Terriers and Boston Terrier mixes, Frenchies, Pugs and other similar small breeds and will run rain or shine. Hours are 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

To reach SuperDog Central from Toronto: Take the 401 east to the Holt Road exit. Travel north on Holt Road, crossing Highway 2, to 2836 Holt Road (on your left).
